About Rashad McCardy:
Rashad McCardy grew up in Nassau, Bahamas. He is a Christian, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of the West Indies. He has had a fascination with dragons ever since he was a young child. Rashad enjoys playing video games, basketball, football, worshiping God, and writing, of course. He currently lives in Nassau, Bahamas, with his family.

What inspires you to write?
God gives me my inspiration to right.

Tell us about your writing process.
More of a seat of my pants writer. I pray and then I start to write and the Lord guides me on what to put in my books.

For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I usually imagine how a scene would go down while writing it, but I sometimes talk to myself to see how a scene sounds or how it should sound. Something I’ll be thinking about a scene and the words will just start to come out of my mouth.

What advice would you give other writers?
Just keep going. Sometimes you may feel like you can’t do it or you may have doubts or fears. Someone once said to me that if you enjoy something then find a way to make money off of it. (I’m paraphrasing of course). If you enjoy writing then keep on doing it until it starts to make money.

How did you decide how to publish your books?
I had a friend who went through createspace, plus it didn’t charge me anything to publish my book, unlike some other sites that would have. They also are pretty generous with the Royalties (%70 kindle royalties). They are also run by Amazon so when published they give you a list of places where to sell the book. The whole package is just a lot for a website that you don’t have to pay to publish your book. The tools they provide prior to publishing are also very helpful.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Kindle I believe, though I prefer paperback books myself.

What genres do you write?: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Mythology, Fairy Tales

What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
